Yomp – “38 Miles of Hard Slog”
Yomp is back.
Yomp is a hiking challenge during 2016, open to all Isle of Man Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Network Members and Leaders to walk from the Point of Ayre in the North of the Island to the Sound in the South of the Island. You can download a map of the Yomp route.
The hike will be done in three easy Sections on the following dates:

Sunday 19 June, 2016

Finish: Crosby Football Ground (SC325793)
Sunday 25 September, 2016

Finish: The Sound Café (SC173668)
Each of the three Sections will start at 10:00, however if you are unable to make the mass start day, as long as you can complete the Section within the above months, then you will be eligible for the specially commissioned Yomp Badge, which will be given out to everyone who completes Yomp.
Each hiking group should have a competent person leading them. Section 1 involves walking on some roads without footpaths. Section 2 is mainly hill walking and Section 3 is a mixture of tracks and roads, some without footpaths.
