Bank holiday Monday, 25th May saw ‘Wolf Pack’ Southern Explorer Unit at Mullin ny Carty for an activity day.
On the practical side the Explorers had a tidy up of the camp fire area within the ruined cottage and picking stones from the grass to aid in the safe cutting of the grass.
On the fun side the first activity was preparing a fire pit and the roasting of chickens and jacket potatoes for lunch.
The Scouts also erected a large brand new tent that had been kindly donated to the unit by a member of the public. We did find out there were no tent pegs but this was no real problem to remedy.
The Explorers then set up a rope swing over the river and insisted that unit leader Roger had the first go saying that,
If the rope didn’t snap it must be safe!
We also had the pleasure to welcome Ben ‘G’ a new recruit to the ‘Pack’.
