The Isle of Man Newspapers’ Young Citizen of the Year Awards is being held again for the second year and the nomination deadline is drawing near.
Voirrey Barron, Marketing Communications Manager at Manx Telecom, said:
“The inaugural Young Citizen of the Year Awards was a fantastic initiative, and the awards presentation evening was an emotional occasion which showcased the vibrant community spirit that plays a vital role in making the Isle of Man such a great place to live and work. As the Island’s leading telecoms provider, and a major employer, we take our role in the community very seriously and are therefore delighted to continue our support of the Young Citizen of the Year Awards. It’s an excellent initiative, and a great way to reward and celebrate the contribution which young people are making to Island life. We’re confident that this year’s award winners and nominees will once again inspire and encourage the next generation of young citizens to follow their example.”
There will be eight award categories:
- arts and culture
- peer support
All nominees must be under the age of 18 at the start of the 2015/2016 academic school year which began on September 1st, 2015. Winners of the awards will be announced at a presentation ceremony on Thursday April 14.
