The weather in Port Erin was almost perfect for the St. George’s Day parade & service. Everyone agrees that this year saw a great turnout with over 500 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Leaders (past and present) there.

Wayne’s day started in Ballasalla with 1st Mallew as they took the steam train n to Port Erin. MTTV interview both the Chief Commissioner and the Island Commission of The Girl Guides, who were also represented.

A highlight of the service was the awarding of St. George’s Day awards. Wayne presented the Silver Acorn or Silver Wolf to six well deserving island Scouters. For photos of the presentations check

the special gallery.

Congratulations to 1st Rushen, who were the recipient of this yea’s Victor Kneal trophy for their navel entry.
