After running very successful camps in the Lake District and the Forest of Bowland in 2006 and 2008, for 2010 we are going to hold another Scout Camp again in England. We are planning to stay in indoor accommodation at Helme Scout Activity Centre, Littledale Scout Campsite, which is located near Caton Village, about 8 miles away from Lancaster. The Camp will run From the 31. July to the 7. August 2010.
We have 24 places available on the camp and it is open to all Onchan Cubs (age 10 and over on the 1. April 2010), Scouts and Explorer Scouts. Places will be reserved on a first come first served basis.
Everyone wishing to attend this camp, must have taken part in a previous camp of at least two nights beforehand. All those attending must also have the approval of their Section Leader.
We will be running a full programme of activities during the camp and we will be making use of on and off site activities. Obviously it is still early days and the programme has yet to be fully arranged, but activities may include, climbing, archery, orienteering, swimming, kayaking, etc. We are also hoping to spend a day at Camelot Theme Park and Go Ape together with other trips off site
The cost of the camp will be £280.00 per head which will be fully inclusive. All those attending the camp will be provided with a Payment Card so it will be possible to make payments towards the camp on a weekly or monthly basis.
The camp will be run following Scout Association Guidelines and all activities will be supervised by suitably qualified persons where required.
After the closing date for booking a place on the camp has passed, all those taking part will receive a confirmation letter and a payment card. Payments for the camp can be made as and when you like, with the full amount being due by no later than the 31. May 2010. Further information on payments will be in the confirmation letter.
