2011 Manx WSJ Unit have their final meeting

On Saturday evening the 2011 Manx WSJ Unit and fund raising team held its' final meeting at 1st Malew's Scout hall Ballasalla before closing the books for the last time. The Island Commissioner Mr Peter Young was the guest of honour.There was a display of Jamboree memorabilia and photographs from the initial selection procedure in February 2010, fund raising events through to the Jamboree and Ho Ho. This was followed by the premier of the Jamboree DVD produced by one of our Scouts Todd P.
The 20 minute DVD brought back many memories to those of us who attended the event.
The party then moved to the Whitestone where we all sat down for a meal which was followed by a speech of thanks to the parents from Scout PL Nick H. and a speech of thanks from Unit Leader Roger to everyone for all the hard work put in over the eighteen month run up to the event.
The Island Commissioner then surprised Todd by presenting him with the Artistic Activities badge for the excellent job he had done in producing the DVD.
To conclude the evening the 2011 WSJ Unit presented the Commissioner with the residue of monies raised which ammounted to £ 3,027 with the request that it be held in trust by the IoM Scout Association for the 2015 Manx WSJ unit.
