COLLECTABLE T.T. & M.G.P. BADGES
VERY LIMITED NUMBERS NOW AVAILABLE
For almost as long as there have been Scouts, the Scouts of the Isle of Man have been involved with the world famous Tourist Trophy (T.T.) and Manx Grand Prix (M.G.P.) Motorcycle Road Races. The Cubs and Scouts work on the Double Scoreboards opposite the Grandstand at the Start / Finish Line in Douglas.
During a race the Cubs and Scouts are involved as messengers taking lap times from the Time Box to the painters and taking the painted boards to the Scouts who work on the front of the boards, putting up laps times and tearing off the lap counters. Above these Scouts work Cubs and Scouts on the clocks, showing the position of each rider around the 37 3/4 mile course. During T.T. the races are on for four days and during the M.G.P. for three days. Each Cub and Scout who works for the full three or four days is awarded the T.T. and M.G.P. Badge, which can be worn on the back of the scarf for a period of one year. These badges are cherished by the Cubs and Scouts who gain them.
In 2001, both the T.T. and M.G.P. Races were cancelled due to Foot and Mouth Precautions. The Scout Badges however for 2001 had already been made and have become a symbol of the T.T. and M.G.P. that never was. The badges have been made available to members of the Scout Association - Isle of Man and around half have been sold, the remainder are being made available on this Website.

VERY LIMITED NUMBERS NOW AVAILABLE
The T.T Badge and the M.G.P. Badge on the left, shown together as they would be worn on the back of the Scout Scarf. Each year a different background colour is used. The badges are each 8.5 cm wide by 4.5 cm high. The badges are being sold as a pair and come complete with two Collectable Postcards of T.T. Riders.
There were originally only 55 pairs available and stocks are now running very low. Each pair is available for £5.00. This is for the two badges, two postcards and postage to the UK.
