Over the weekend of the 22 August Scouts and leaders from Malew and Ballaugh plus ‘Wolf Pack’ – Southern Explorers and Northern Explorers invaded the Island to participate in this years Steam Railway Island at War event.
Several activities were run for the information and amusement of rail passengers and visitors alike. These included, tea and cakes, a Teddy bear hospital, a ‘Give old Adolph one in the eye with a wet sponge’, a test your knowledge of WW2 and a “How much do you think a weeks ration was”?
Many Scouts and leaders were dressed up in 1940’s uniform to add to the wartime feel and everyone had a good (if a bit wet) day.
