Yomp is a hiking challenge during 2011, open to all Isle of Man Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Network Members and Leaders to walk from the Point of Ayre in the north of the Island to the Sound in the south of the Island.
Activities
World Scout Jamborees
Every four years, tens of thousands of Scouts, from every corner of the world, gather in a tented city for two weeks of activities and adventure!
Three Legs Challenge
The Three Legs Challenge has been set up by the Scout Association - Isle of Man, to encourage hiking amongst Scouts and Explorer Scouts. A special badge and certificate have been created and will be awarded to any Scout or Explorer Scout who complete the Challenge in a twelve month period. The Challenge is open to all Scouts and Explorer Scouts, not just Manx Scouts.
First Aid Training
The next course is on:
Saturday, 4 February 2012 - 10:00am to 4:30pm (approx.)
At St. John Ambulance HQ at Glencruchery Road
This is a non uniform event and is open to Adults in Scouting, Explorer Scouts and Young Leaders (it is not open to youth members). Please try to get there at about 9:30am. All you need is a pen and your lunch, drinks are provided.
These courses have been set up in conjunction with the St. John's Ambulance Association to provide adults in Scouting with the required First Aid Qualifications. It is hoped that three courses will be run each year.
